Our Roots

SomethingIrish was founded in 1999, in Hoboken, New Jersey by Stephen Flood. The company has grown considerably in size since those early days. We now stock well over three hundred separate items. We have moved our customer service operations to Buffalo, New York and our Shipping fulfillment to Dublin, Ireland. Stephen was born and educated in Dublin, he emigrated to America at the age of 23. After seven years he decided it was time to move home. Last year he traveled with his wife Paula around the world and has since settled back in his native Dublin.

Stephen and Paula, travel to the far corners of Ireland on a regular basis, identifying new and exciting craftsmen. We are always adding new items to our catalogue. So check back as often as possible.

What makes us different.

We sell only Irish made goods. Absolutely everything we sell is made in Ireland. We value this policy because it sets us apart from the competition. Many other sites pretend to sell all Irish goods, when in fact the majority of the items they sell are made in China, probably at the expense of child labor. Be suspect of fake Irish goods, they do not benefit Irish people, they do not benefit the poor unfortunates who were forced to make the goods, and they do not benefit you the customer. We believe in fair trade, with a passion.

We have a passion for Ireland, her heritage, her crafts and her people. We will promote our culture at every opportunity, we will seek to bring only the best Irish made items to our customers attention, we will strive to give the customer value for money.
